||
|
On Tuesday 13th January 2026 at 7pm in the Marks Gate Community Hub we will be balloting for a new Chair and Vice Chair to run the Chadwell Heath Ward Panel. Mr Neville has stepped down after 14 years as ward chair. We thank him for all his hard work and commitment to the community and wish him good fortune in his future endeavors.
The voluntary role of Ward Chair is to attend and chair a ward panel meeting every three months, help set the meeting agenda. Provide strategic direction and leadership for the ward panel, and advise meeting members on setting ward priorities and ensure everyone abides by the terms of reference found in the Ward Panel Members Handbook (attached). There is also ward chair meetings where the Ward chairs on the borough meet with the Met Police Senior Leadership Team for the borough, and cluster meetings where you meet with the inspector for Whalebone sector and the three chairs for the three wards in that cluster.
The Ward Panel Meeting is held so the local policing team can present crime figures/trends to the members and they can be scrutinized and discussed to set out the priorities for the team to police over the next three months.
We are looking for community members from across the ward to join our ward panel.
Nominations are now open until 31st December 2025. Voting will commence from 2nd January 2026 for votes that can be emailed to the team up until the vote in the meeting on the 13th January 2026.
